The Department of Classics and Ancient Mediterranean Studies offers a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in ancient languages. It is designed for students interested in pursuing advanced study in Classics, ancient history, ancient philosophy, Biblical studies, Egyptology, or Near Eastern studies, but who need further language preparation. Students enrolled in the certificate program have the opportunity to advance their knowledge of Greek and Latin, as well as take courses in Hebrew, Sumerian, Akkadian, Middle Egyptian & Hieroglyphics, and Targumic Aramaic. In addition, students take at least one writing-intensive seminar to strengthen their preparation for graduate-level research.

Advanced undergraduate courses numbered between 400 and 499 may be used to meet some graduate degree requirements when taken by graduate students. Courses below the 400 level may not.
